Gameplay The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Danger of the Ooze video game is primarily a platform game with occasional fighting segments. The primary focus is on traversing through the stages to reach the boss character at the end. In addition to the main game, there is a race mode where the player must reach the end of the race without being caught by the enemy. As a variation of the normal platform game, the player has to avoid the enemies and avoid falling into pits which are filled with balls. The player character has unlimited lives, but when he is hit he is returned to the beginning of the level. The player may pick up a "Kaboom Cannon" which he can use to destroy blocks, walls and enemies. In addition to the main game and race mode, there is also a single player minigame where the player fights a number of enemies with different powers. These changes led to a development cycle of six months, whereas on the original Xbox the time was much longer. Smith also criticized the lack of support for Kinect, and stated that this had a lot of influence on their decision to develop a sequel instead of an online game.
